Episode Summary:

In this episode, I’m talking about the ways we convince ourselves that we need to become a better, more disciplined, more put-together person before we can make more money in our business. I used to think I needed to look more polished on social media or have more discipline around stopping work if I wanted to build a business that made more money on a 3 day work week. But those things aren’t actually the answer.

My clients making $3K/month and the ones making $30K/month aren’t morally superior to each other, and I don’t want you using your income as evidence that you’re doing something wrong. Instead of shaming ourselves for the gaps in our businesses, what if we treated those gaps like problems to solve? In this episode, I’m sharing how I “baby myself” in my business and life, create systems that support me being busy and imperfect, and strategically build a business where I can expect myself to be imperfect and still make more money with less work.

Topics:

  • Why being more visually “put together” or disciplined isn’t the answer to making more money

  • The shame we can attach to our income and business gaps

  • How higher earners aren’t morally superior or inherently better at business

  • Treating your weaknesses as problems to solve instead of personal failures

  • 17 ways Anna “baby-babies” herself in business and life

  • Building a business that supports imperfection, more income, and a 3 day work week
