Last week, my kids were unexpectedly home with me, so I shifted into my “working light” mode and worked about 7 hours for the week. And you know what? I got to enjoy being with them without forcing myself to work and care for them at the same time. It was such a reminder of how much has changed since the early days of my business, when I felt like I had to multitask constantly and make it all look easy.
If I could go back 9 years, I would give myself permission to hire a nanny, a VA, and an OBM sooner. As women, we can make needing support mean there's something wrong with us or that we're somehow failing at our jobs. But caring for children is incredible work, and we don't always give ourselves permission to acknowledge just how hard it can be to do that while working. In this episode, I'm sharing the mindset blocks I had to overcome to feel good about getting support, creating more space for focused work and intentional mom time, and letting go of the pressure to do everything at once.
