Episode Summary:

What does fixing a broken chair have to do with building a $300K+ business? Apparently, a LOT. 😂

When one of the legs on my living room chair broke right before my daughter’s friends were coming over, I decided I was going to figure out how to fix it. What followed was an hour of unbolting parts, taking them to Home Depot, asking for help, buying something I didn’t actually need, questioning the advice I was given, and eventually realizing that the original problem wasn’t even the real problem.

And honestly? That’s entrepreneurship. In this episode, I’m talking about the power of tenacity, positive self-belief, and simply trusting that you’ll find a solution—even when you don’t know what the solution is yet. We’ll talk about why we sometimes switch coaches, platforms, or offers too quickly, why “wasted” time and money are actually part of the problem-solving process, and why you’re allowed to push back on advice when you know the context of your business and life better than anyone else. I believe this willingness to stay with the problem and keep figuring it out may be one of the most valuable—and profitable—skills an entrepreneur can have in the next decade.

Topics:

  • The power of deciding “I will solve this” when you encounter a business problem

  • Why being willing to look stupid, ask questions, and bring what you know can help you find the solution

  • How switching coaches, platforms, offers, or strategies too quickly can mean bringing the same problem with you

  • Discovering that the problem you started with isn’t actually the real problem

  • Why it’s okay to disagree with your coach or seek a second opinion—you know your business and life context best

  • Why “wasted” time and money are often simply part of the process of figuring things out
