You're Qualified to Coach

You're Qualified to Coach

I’m sharing another mini-episode today because I need to tackle a really common misconception that I keep hearing over and over.

I always hear, “Anna, I'm not a coach and I didn't sign up to do coaching, I’m a designer (or accountant, or OBM, or whatever it is).”

Spoiler alert: If you're a business owner, you've also signed up to be a coach.

Let me say that one more time. If you're a business owner, you've also signed up for the skill of coaching in your business left, right, and center.

Let me tell you why.

You're most likely in the business of directly helping humans change, right? No matter what your industry is. even when your business isn't directly coaching, you are working with humans and you are helping them change and you will use the skill of coaching if you want to help them get results.

Let me tell you some examples.

  • When you're on a sales call and you're holding the space for someone if they're deciding, if now is the time to invest $10k into a website

  • When you decide to leverage your expertise and offer consulting

  • When you decide to leverage your expertise and offer a live course

  • When you supplement said course curriculum with live calls to make sure your clients are implementing the work and to help them release any blocks that are keeping them from actually getting results in it.

  • When you add team members to your team, as you grow and expand to get those team members to perform while you will be using coaching.

And before you're like, oh crap, I didn't know I was signing up for this. Let me dispel what coaching is.

>> Coaching is asking good questions, listening and reflecting, giving tips and strategies, holding space for humans to process hard things and release limiting beliefs, holding space for the next level version of people to emerge, being willing not just to talk about surface level stuff, but the beliefs and mindsets that keep us playing it small.

I really feel like a lot of my expertise is helping women not just shift through coaching, but actually helping my clients who are business owners become better coaches because I know at the end of the day, that's how they're going to get their people better results in their business.

Okay. End rant.

>> I hope that this was good news to you and permission to allow yourself to be a coach.

If you need some extra support around this, my favorite coaching book is 1,001 Solution Focused Questions, give that a read and give yourself permission to get good at coaching and you will see the results in your business completely shift.
