4 Phases of Growth of Heart-Centered Entrepreneurship

Episode Summary:

I have never heard anyone talk about money mindset or entrepreneurship the way that I do in this episode before. Basically, I've worked with clients and helped them create their first $1K month, their first $3K month, $10K month, their first $40K month – I have worked with women at so many different levels in their business, but the common thread is they're all these heart-centered entrepreneurs with these heart-centered problems. For example, they say, “I love what I do and I wanna make an impact, but I feel really icky talking about myself and bragging about myself.” Or, “I want to grow my business and scale it, but I'm afraid to let go and trust my team because what if the quality of my work or my clients suffer?” Heart-centered problems. So I thought it would be really fun to break it down into these four different phases of heart-centered entrepreneurship and growth and give you an affirmation for each phase. Let’s go!

Topics Discussed:

  • How to fully accept the current phase that your business is in and the reminder to separate your worth from how much money you make

  • Why visibility is the most important tool for new entrepreneurs who are working toward $1K to $3K months

  • When you need to focus on sales in your business and how to sell without the ick, learn to overcome objections, and create aligned offers

  • Doubling down on your money mindset to achieve $10K months and the answer to the messy middle of business

  • Knowing when it’s time to grow your team and develop your systems and doing so confidently

  • Anna Rapp (00:00):

I have never heard anyone talk about money mindset or entrepreneurship this way before. And I think this is gonna bull your mind. Basically, I've worked with clients and helped them create their first one K month, their first three K month, 10 K months, their first 40 K month. I have worked with women at so many different levels in their business, but the common thread is they're all these heart-centered entrepreneurs with these heart-centered problems. For example, I love what I do and I wanna make an impact, but I feel really icky talking about myself and bragging about myself, right? Like I wanna grow my business and scale it, but I'm afraid to let go and trust my team and like what if the quality of my, of the work of my clients get suffers, right? Like I wanna make a lot of money but also I don't wanna be greedy, right?

    Anna Rapp (00:44):

Like heart-centered problems. And so I thought it would be really fun to break it down into for these four different phases of heart-centered entrepreneurship and growth, number one, the biggest skill you need to focus on based on where you are at in growing your heart-centered business based on that level. And then also I created some affirmations for you too and I think this is gonna be useful kind of like a personality test for you to know exactly where you're at in these four different brackets right now when it comes to growing and scaling your business but also so that you know what's ahead for you, right? For me, I kind of like to know the next step, even if I'm not doing it yet because it helps me be more comfortable in embracing the current season I'm on, right? Because all of my clients, I find they're so ambitious, they're chomping at the bit they wanna get to the next level, which is great, but also the best way to get to the next level is by really being present and conquering your current level.

    Anna Rapp (01:42):

And I think in the online space you can see all this, all these things being marketed and it looks so sexy. Like I wanna launch a group program, I wanna be on 17 different platforms or a lot of my clients come from different corporate backgrounds where they have a lot of experience in different things. Like maybe they were the head of a marketing agency in their corporate life and they were overseeing a team of 50 people and then they come into their business and they're like, oh, the quality of stuff that I put out now isn't like I find a lot of my clients when they start their businesses, they're almost like they're having to under underperform in a way, right? Like because you are starting from scratch, you're building a a, a one man show business and so the quality of work you may have produced before when you had 50 team members is gonna be different than you produced now.

    Anna Rapp (02:27):

Right? Okay. Also just a quick update, life update. I'm still in my house and I am so enjoying it and if any of you guys are on the fence, I'm like should you save up for and buy a house like this has been better than I dreamed. I don't know about you but like I live in my house, like I use my house, I work from my house, my kids play in the house. Like we just really use our space and I think as a work from home entrepreneur, it can't be emphasized enough how nice it is to have a nice place to work from. You know what I mean? Like a nice place to cook from. And so I just wanna say if you have a dream to buy a new house or to renovate your house, like do not let that G dream go and go for it.

    Anna Rapp (03:08):

Okay? It is possible for you. You know my story in less than three years I went from really lightly in debt to 200 K in the bank to buy my house. And so it is possible for you in two years and maybe it won't be two years, maybe it'll be one year or four years, but who cares? Like start moving towards it. It is so worth it. Okay? So I kind of broke these levels into four different levels. The one to three K level, the five to K level, the 10 K level, and then the 20, 30, 40 K level. I have more levels towards the beginning because I find that as you're growing your business, like you're kind of going through a lot of skills faster and then as your business is larger and bigger and multi six figures, you're kind of doubling down on some of the same skills.

    Anna Rapp (03:55):

Okay? So let's dive into it. This refers to the income ceiling you haven't consistently broken yet, right? So if you're not consistently making one to three K months, phase one, right? If you're not consistently making five to eight K months, phase two, right? Same thing with 10 K and then the 20, 30, 40 K. And this doesn't mean again, like I really think we iden, we as women, we like enmesh our brilliance or our worth with our money, right? And really the amount of money that you make means nothing about your level of worthiness or brilliance. I think it has a lot more to do with your ability to <laugh> do a lot of money mindset work, right? And believe that you are worthy to receive money as you are right now no matter what. But I just wanna let you know like I think part of the reason women don't accept the current phase they're in and don't double down on the current phase they're in is because they're making it mean something wrong.

    Anna Rapp (04:49):

And if you haven't hit 10 K months yet, there's nothing wrong with you. But honestly that's where you're at. So don't be focusing on the 40 K month things, right? Okay. So I want you to say out loud, what's that income ceiling you have not consistently broken yet. Is it three K AK 10 K or like the 2040 K, right? Which is the one, say it now before you listen in so that you're not cheating. Okay <laugh>, because I'm gonna talk through the skill that you need to make sure you double down on in general and then some affirmations to go with it. So for my clients that have not consistently hit the one to three K, the skill is visibility. The skill is getting visible online. The skill is getting visible with your friends, with your community, right? Really showing up and not being afraid to be seen when it comes to your work is so important, right?

    Anna Rapp (05:44):

And you know my mastermind self with heart, which by the way applications are open right now, if you're interested most I suggest that this program is best for women that are already making two K a month. Because I really want you coming into the program knowing your main offers, knowing that you're a little bit visible, right? Often in cell with heart we completely rework your social media plan. We completely rework your offers. But it's helpful if you have somewhat of an established business, right? And so most of my women coming coming in have already taken visible impact, right? My little cell study course on visibility and or they're already crushing it on social media. So if you are not yet consistently making one to three k, I really wanna encourage you like am I consistently visible? Have I released my visibility blocks? Like have I, am I trying to show up on 19 platforms or can I just get my self permission to show up on one platform and crush it there?

    Anna Rapp (06:41):

Right? My affirmations for you in this phase are it's safe to be visible, it's safe to be seen. I release my fear of judgment. I just did a little reel set on releasing the fear of judgment with visibility because I asked you guys where you're most stuck when it comes to visibility and almost all of you said, and these were women that are making a little bit of money, that are making a lot of money, really had this fear around what do other people think about me? And I really feel like what I wanna reflect back to you, if that's you, is what do you think about you? And is that okay if someone doesn't completely understand you? Can you be so in alignment and integrity with your life and how you're living that it actually doesn't really matter what people think of you?

    Anna Rapp (07:28):

Cuz all you can do is put out the most accurate version of you and then trust that 90% of people are gonna get that right? Okay? If you are in the place where you haven't yet broken consistent five to AK months, your skill that you need to double down on is sales, selling, selling, selling, selling. And there was a point in my business where that would've made me cringe and pass out and I would've turned off the podcasts episode right now because I felt so icky selling so icky promoting myself. But it's true really all the levels of business, but especially this level, it's really getting comfortable with objections, really getting comfortable, promoting yourself very, very frequently online and really getting sold on how amazing your work is and shifting some of your offers so that you can be really proud of them, right? Often my clients and sell with heart.

    Anna Rapp (08:19):

This is the phase where we're changing up some of your offers so that they feel more aligned so you feel excited to sell them, right? Often if you're like, I mean I kind of want more clients but also like I'm kind of stressed and also signing clients makes me have anxiety. Like that's not gonna work, right? And so really this is a season to say how can I do better at selling my way and how can I release any blocks that are keeping me from selling? For example, not liking your offer. Some math informations for you in this SA stage are, it's safe to sell with heart,

    Speaker 2 (08:55):

It's safe to share about my work all the time and my clients with 10 K, 20 k, 40 k plus businesses are also selling all the time. But I find that the like five eight K is the mark where you're really for the first time having to put your feet to the fire. This is the season when I was Googling like how do I sell out my offers without selling? And then I realize like, ooh, okay I need to sell. I just need to find a way to sell in a way that feels in alignment with me and integrity with me in a way that doesn't feel spammy or pushy, right? Okay. Next is hitting those consistent 10 K months. For my clients that have done this with Sell with Heart, I've really seen it's because they double down on their money mindset. They really double down on their beliefs around money and around being wealthy.

    Speaker 2 (09:41):

Cuz that's really the mark where you start making money in excess, right? You're like, Ooh, actually all my expenses are covered, everything is good, nothing is wrong, right? We spend like the point of getting two 10 K months, we've taken a lot of risks, right? We've done a lot of things on adrenaline, right? And so things start getting a little bit like easy in the sense that like, wow, I have good clients and wow, I'm making okay money and like actually I wanna make more because I have all these dreams and desires like to put my kids in private school or to move into the new home or whatever it is, right? But I also am afraid to risk again, it really is a threshold of being needing to risk and it's not just risking. A lot of times when we risk at the start of our business, we're kind of risking for survival to to cover our, our basic needs.

    Speaker 2 (10:30):

But then at that 10 K mark we're risking for more happiness, for more abundance. And I don't know about you, but like that's where it really starts getting sweet. That's where you start getting happy. That's where you start getting peaceful. Like life gets infinitely better, right? But I think it's like ooh, is it worth the cost of taking risk? And you know, at that point you're like starting to edge into team stuff. So you're like, do I wanna let go of control? Like it's just is a really wonky time to be honest. And I don't think it gets talked about enough and I really love supporting my clients and sell with heart around this. I call this like messy middle entrepreneurship to the tee, right? Because you're almost like doing a lot of work. But if you don't really push the gas to scale and take some of those risks like hiring team members, like leveraging your business by having new offers that are a little bit more passive ish, right?

    Speaker 2 (11:21):

Then you can stay in this messy middle season for a long time where you're like working a lot but you're not quite monetizing in a way that makes it feel worth it. So I just wanna like give you the biggest hug if you're in that season, maybe you're making like 5, 7, 8, 10, but like not consistent, 10, 12, 15. Like this is like the quintessential messy middle and this is I am here for you my love. And really the answer to a lot of this is a ton of mindset work, right? You already know how to be visible, you already know how to sell. Sure things could be improved, but it really is doing a lot of journaling around being believing that you are worthy to receive a lot of money and a lot of happiness and more freedom into your business than you thought possible, right? In so With Heart, I have these journal prompts that I give my clients these 18 journal prompts that you work through and it really is this process of gently five minutes at a time peeling back the layers of what you think and believe about money, what you think and believe about wealth.

    Speaker 2 (12:21):

And I just wanna say to you right now, you are worthy of more money just as you are. It's safe for you to receive more money in your business, it's safe for business to start getting easier than ever more profitable than ever you put in the work to get here thus far. And you know it was not a cakewalk, right? But really believing it is worth it and you are risk the worth again, the you are worth the risk again, you are resilient. I think this is the season where I have to remind my clients like, hey, you're pretty badass and resilient and you're like treating yourself like you don't have a backbone. You do. You are strong, you can handle this. It's safe for you to risk again for that reward. It's safe for you to like not get too comfortable. And this is a season two I think where you, if you do get too comfortable, that's where you can tend to like wanna like burn your business down because you're like trying to add excitement in, right?

    Speaker 2 (13:10):

Okay, so affirmations for you around this season, if you are in a money mindset, working skill area, is it safe to make abundant income in my business? Doesn't make me a selfish person, self safe to make abundant income and also it's safe to embrace my version of success and wealth, right? However you wanna use your money, however you wanna use your freedom, there's no wrong version. And can you trust that it's safe for you to lean into that? Okay? For my clients that have consistently past 10 K and are really working on the 20, 30, 40 plus K, the skill there that it is team and systems, there's no way around it, right? A lot of my clients have baggage around, maybe they've had a bad boss before and they're like, no, I don't wanna have a team or I'm scared to hire a team member and, and let go and release control and like, you know, all these fears around team and systems.

    Speaker 2 (14:05):

Really I see my team as an extension of my systems because my team helps build my systems. My amazing C O o Hailey, if you don't know her, please add her. I'll drop her Instagram link. She's amazing. But she really has developed a lot of my systems. And then also I really see team and systems being the same in that as an entrepreneur, you're releasing control and you're letting it not all be you, right? When you connect someone, when you connect with someone online, is that okay if the freebie is sent to them and the video of you is sent to them from your email service provider? From active campaign? Active campaign is one of my team members, right? Like our systems, our software, our project management, all of that and our amazing, amazing team, team members that support us. That really is, I believe what helps you scale your business because you, at a certain point you are selling so much that you don't have capacity to serve all those clients.

    Speaker 2 (15:02):

And so certainly you can leverage your time with like group containers and passive income and like all of that, but you cannot do that without a team. And I think that doesn't get talked about. People say like, oh, scale your business with a mastermind, scale your business with a course, yes, but also team with it. You cannot have a mastermind, you cannot have an online course and not have a team to support you in supporting those clients. Right? You guys know I'm obsessed with chat G B T I think it's amazing, but nothing will ever support, never replace humans. And so I think this is the conversation is how able are you to let go in your business and be supported when it comes to team and systems. So the affirmations here are I have a dream team, I have a dream team. When I think about all the people that support me in my business right now, I have three amazing ladies that support me in my business.

    Speaker 2 (15:55):

When I think about my babysitters, I consider them to be my team too. When I think about my coach, when I think about my mastermind sisters, those are all my team members and the more I grow, the more I have to be willing to embrace support. So I hope that this was helpful for you. Obviously I think we all need all of these all the time. I know for me, like I need this reminder to it's safe to be visible when I get like little inklings of being afraid to post online. I need the reminder that like it's safe to sell every time I create a new program, right? I continually do the money mindset work and I continually work on my ability to receive from my beautiful team to lean in harder to systems so that my business can really run like a beautiful little machine and we can just spend more of my energy and more of my time on my amazing clients.

    Speaker 2 (16:47):

I would love to hear from you two things. Number one, what level of business are you in so that you can know what to double down and embrace on as far as that skill. And it'll help you too because then you can like really if you go to my website and you go to the podcast page, you can search and you search if you are in that first bracket. Search for visibility stuff, right? If you are in that team, step search for team, right? If you are in the sa like search the podcast for what you most need as you're reading books, read books on the skill you're most needing and spoiler alert is probably the one you don't want to be doing, right? <Laugh> I was teasing one of my clients earlier this week and she was like, okay, so what's my strategy?

    Speaker 2 (17:31):

And she's in the middle of like needing to hire another team member. She was like, yeah, but what's my other strategy? Like she wanted me to tell her to like do something different on social media, but the truth is she's doing great on social media, but she needs a team member to support her next, right? And so I think like we often like don't wanna do the thing that we need to do. And so it's just reminding yourself like the, this is the skill right now. This is the skill and if you want my support on any and all of these skills, please apply for a cell with heart. I will pop the link for the application. This program fills at 20 women, two pods of 10 because it is literally just meet in their coaching. No support coach. It is me alone supporting you because I love the coaching work.

    Speaker 2 (18:12):

I hope I die coaching because I just am so obsessed with helping women who have massive hearts both done for you. Businesses like accountants and website designers and social media managers, and then also coaches of all types, fertility coaches, life coaches, business coaches. So if you are a heart-centered entrepreneur and you have a service-based business and VIPs program is best for women that are making two to 12 K currently and wanna grow and scale from there, but there are women in the program that are not quite there yet. There are women that are well beyond six figures already into multi six figures. It really is the container to get my high level support. I really put a line in the sand and said, you know what? Like I love one-on-one coaching, but I don't have the capacity right now to see any more one-on-one clients.

    Speaker 2 (18:58):

And so the ladies in this program tell me they really do feel like that, that client, because you can add on one-on-one sessions, I'm there to support you every 48 hours. I'm in Slack responding when we do our group workshops once a month. I'm the one hosting those. It really is me supporting you and you will not get this level of support from someone who has seven years in the online business world who knows her, who I really walk my talk when it comes to building a freedom-based business. I work about three days a week and I'm able to really have this beautiful life and business I'm so proud of. And so if you are a mama or if you are someone that values that freedom and values your heart, but wants to really blow the F up when it comes to your business and your income this year, I would just love to support you. So again, your next step is to fill out an application and that'll give you some questions to reflect on. It'll help me know if this is a fit for you. And of course my inbox is open to you. If you have any questions, feel free to email me or pm me or DM me. And I am an open book when it comes to growing your online business. I would love to support you. Okay? Have a great rest of your day and thank you as always for tuning in.
