Celebrating 150 Episodes (plus how to get started podcasting!)

Episode Summary:

Today on The Heart Centered Entrepreneur we are going to PARTY because it is the celebration of 150+ podcast episodes! It blows my mind. It seems like just yesterday that I was in the closet at my parents' house because I was post divorce, living with my parents and my sweet sweet daddy helped me make a podcast recording closet. I literally put up soundproofing in my tiny little bedroom at my parents' house and my dad made a little microphone stand and that's where I recorded my first few episodes. Now, I cannot believe that we are here, 150 episodes later.

So I have a little treat for you and it is a giveaway to thank you for your support. I am also going to do a mini training on if you have a podcast on your heart, how you can get started with that, because here's the thing – if you've been listening to and impacted by the show, my guess is that you have more knowledge, stories, and experience than you gave yourself credit for. I believe it's time for you to find your voice, use your voice, and build your platform. So open up your notes app and enjoy!

Topics Discussed:

  • Gratitude for the journey of The Heart Centered Podcast so far and more on the giveaway celebration

  • The time and money that goes into having a podcast and why Anna thinks you should start with an interview series if you’re just diving in

  • The power of repurposing content, whether it be written, audio, or video and planning all of your visibility in one hour a week

  • Overcoming imposter syndrome whenever you start something new in your business

  • The importance of celebrating the wins and milestones in your business

  • Anna Rapp (00:00):

We're gonna party, we're gonna party. <Laugh> is the celebration of 150 podcast episodes here at the Heart Center Entrepreneur podcast. It blows my mind. It seems like just yesterday that I was in the closet at my parents' house because I was post divorced, living with my parents and my sweet sweet daddy helped me make a podcast recording closet <laugh>. I like literally put up soundproofing in my tiny little bedroom at my parents' house. And my dad made a little microphone stand and that's where I recorded my first few episodes and I was nervous af <laugh>. And I cannot believe here we are 150 episodes later. So I have a little treat for you and it is a giveaway to thank you for your support. And I also am gonna do a little baby training on if you have a podcast on your heart, how you can get started with that.

    Anna Rapp (00:53):

Because here's the thing, if you've been listening to and impacted by the show, my guess is that you have more knowledge, stories, and experience than you gave yourself credit for. And I think it's time for you to find your voice, use your voice, and build your platform. So I'm gonna tell you how to do that today. But first I just wanted to say thank you to you, thank you to you. None of this would be possible without you. None of it, none of it, none of it, none of it. Your support is just imperative. Whether it's you emailing me or leaving me a message on Instagram, like every kind word you have to say about the show literally keeps me going. And when I first started my group, most of my marketing was through my Facebook group and I still have my Facebook group, still love my Facebook group, but I would say my podcast is tied.

    Anna Rapp (01:39):

Now when it comes to where my clients come from, where it comes to what I enjoy doing, I love hanging out with you here on the podcast. And so I hope that it is as enjoyable for you as it is for me. But I just wanna say like, there are so many podcasts you could listen to. And so I do not take it for granted that you spend your precious and valuable time with me here on the Heart Center Entrepreneur podcast. So thank you, thank you, thank you. Times a thousand million. I'm doing a giveaway that I've never done before, I don't think <laugh>. And that is a giveaway of an intensive with me. So I host coaching intensives. By the way, if you ever wanna purchase one of these, it's one week of support, two, one-on-one sessions. And it's a way to, in a moment of time, get a boost of momentum and breakthrough.

    Anna Rapp (02:22):

And women have accomplished incredible things in one intensive week with me. I call it a v i p week. And it's just a way for me to help get a deeper breakthrough for you where we're really going at one thing. Usually it is really helping you start your business or scale your business, create a new offer, create a new marketing plan. And we really can go deep and bust through some major money mindset and visibility blocks. I have people have had people during this week of working together sign clients and get amazing results during that intensive week. And so I'm gonna be giving away one of these to someone that is a listener to the podcast. And so how you enter is rate and review the podcast. If you've already rated and reviewed the podcast before, just email me and let me know.

    Anna Rapp (03:08):

And that will enter you. If you haven't rated and reviewed the show please rate and review the show. All those reviews and ratings help me rank and help me get more visibility and more views and more heart-centered entrepreneurs. And so either way, if you've already done it or if you haven't, please email me and let me know with your email address, because sometimes the way iTunes does it is it doesn't show the email address, it just shows the username. And so email me and someone that reviews and rates the podcast will win an intensive with me. I'm really excited about it, but it's my way to say thank you and give back to you for all that you've given to me. The support you've given me over the last 150 episodes. Again, could not have done it without you. I would love to hear from you too on like, for our next 150 episodes.

    Anna Rapp (03:53):

Like what would you like to see more of? I know I've done a lot of different things. I've done, you know, live coaching, I've done client interviews, I've done guest interviews of my friends and my peers and other influencers. I've done a lot of solo shows and teachings and trainings. I share a lot of my own story and behind the scenes nuggets. And so I would really love to hear from you what episodes do you most look forward to? What episodes do you skip? No hard feelings. But this will really help me know how to make the show more and more valuable for you. That is my goal, that even if you never pay me a penny, that you really are able to get transformation and breakthrough from this show, from this podcast. That is my biggest heart. So feel free to reach out to me if you need support on how to rate and review.

    Anna Rapp (04:37):

You can just google how to do that too. But I'm really excited to do that giveaway. Okay, let's talk about, oh, I also just wanna say of course, a quick shout out to Haley Hatcher and Heart Center podcasting for making the show possible. She has been with me from day one producing this show, and there is no way, no way that I could literally have flawlessly produced 150 episodes so consistent consistently. And it's a hundred percent Haley. So when you write in, feel free to say hi to Haley too. She's the rockstar of all rock stars. Okay, let's talk briefly about, I'm gonna try to leave this brief because I want you to go and record your own podcast. So I love a podcast, but here's the thing. There is a lot of cost of time and energy and money when it comes to creating a show, a podcast.

    Anna Rapp (05:26):

So I recommend that it's a secondary form of visibility. Like I re recommend you first figure out how to get visible on social media. And then when you know that you have kind of narrowed your message a little bit, you've narrowed your audience, you started making some sales, then you're gonna have support. You're, you're gonna be able to afford support to hire a team to help you. But I'm gonna tell you like how to get started. Even if you're not at the place where you are ready to invest your time and money into creating a podcast, what you can do to prep for that, right? What I recommend my clients do is to do a series, right? Just almost pretending like you're going to do a podcast, but instead I love, Instagram has this amazing feature where you can interview people really super simply on the platform.

    Anna Rapp (06:10):

You can also do this, I've done this also in my Facebook group on Zoom. You can interview people. And so if you've been wanting to have a podcast, do an interview series. Like if you're serious about this, you know, pick three people, interview them, do an interview series, and then you can always save the audios and put it on a podcast later, right? But really pick one platform. I think Instagram and Facebook are the best right now to interview some people and get some experience on that, right? You could either do an interview series or you can do a solo series, right? You can do a three part series, you training series. Obviously that would be on video. Another fun thing you guys, I did to baby step into this before I had my podcast is I started recording audio files on my phone and I would upload them to Google Drive <laugh>, and I shared them with my email list.

    Anna Rapp (07:01):

And I think that's such a great way. If you're like, Ooh, I really wanna, I don't wanna do video, I wanna do audio. Can you do a 10 minute audio training on your phone? I even actually recorded a few of these podcast episodes on my phone when I was in a pinch. And you probably even can't quite tell when it comes to the audio. And so I encourage you, can you, like, we, we wait so much in our business, right? I'm gonna wait until this is perfect, or that is perfect, or I have a podcast or I have this like, do you have an iPhone? Can you get over the perfectionism and can you just record a 10 minute audio file on your audio notes app? And then can you share that? Maybe you share it with a friend, maybe you share it with me, maybe you upload it to your Google Drive and share it with your audience, right?

    Anna Rapp (07:45):

But giving yourself that, starting that momentum, right? Again, I think an if we're going the video route, I would either do an interview series or if it's you, then you could just do like three 10 minute YouTube videos, right? Or three one minute reels with a little bit of value. And that's such a great practice form. And I think it also helps you see like if you're up to snuff when it comes to being able to show up consistently for a podcast, right? We, we wait and it's like all or nothing, we're either not visible at all or we're visible on a podcast that takes so much time and effort and energy, right? And I think that beautiful gray area is, can I first be visible every week? You know, can I record three? I always tell my clients for like reels and stuff, just record three one minute videos on your phone, on your iPhone, and then you can use those as reels next week, right? And you guys know that I have a course, DIY course Visible Impact that really teaches you online visibility. And this is what I teach. No matter what you pick as your visibility in your business, whether it's a podcast or video, right, or whatever, you can, I have a worksheet that helps you basically do all your visibility in

    Speaker 2 (08:54):

One hour, hour a week. And I suggest you do that one hour a week visibility habit before you do the podcast, right? So maybe it's like, okay, I'm gonna take one hour a week for my visibility. Maybe someday it's gonna be a podcast, but for now it's gonna be a Facebook Live, right? Or it's gonna be recording three one minute videos. That'll be my reels next week, right? Get into that habit of being visible one hour a week and then how easy it is it gonna be to slip into a podcast, right? And I encourage you too, to ask yourself, okay, what actual one hour per week am I getting visible? Like people are like, oh, I don't wanna be consistently visible online. So much work and effort. It actually is way less effort than you think, but it's way more intentional than you think.

    Speaker 2 (09:37):

Okay, let me say that again. Having an online business, doing online marketing visibility is actually way less work than you think. Like it looks like I'm online all the time, but I'm actually not right? But I am super fierce about and intentional about the time that I am spending on my visibility, right? So are you sitting down every Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 PM and recording your stuff, you know, writing your content, getting it done. So in conclusion, <laugh>, if you wanna write it, if you wanna do a podcast, start getting visible where you can. And again, I think that one of my favorite things is either a little interview series or a a little audio series on your phone recording some clips. If this is on your heart, would you email me? I would love to hold you accountable to the stream of having a podcast and whatever small steps come your way around all this.

    Speaker 2 (10:28):

Okay, gotta go in a minute cuz my kids are home for break and they're like going crazy in the other room. Any other mompreneurs? Okay, but that's it. I just wanna say like, when it comes to starting your podcast, like start before you're ready cuz I did not feel ready. I had already even been way visible by the time I created a podcast, but I still had so much imposter syndrome, so many blocks, so many fears. And I just wanna say too, like the first time you do anything, you're gonna be crappy at it. You know what I'm saying? Like, if you go back and listen to the first few episodes, like I overs scripted them, I stuttered. Like, you know, they're not perfect and, and that's okay. Like, it's, it's gonna be normal. But I think like what I've learned by now is like just accepting that we all face those blocks, we all face those hurdles, we all do it scared and like, it's okay that the first few you guys know, like I'm learning about chaa dance right now, right?

    Speaker 2 (11:16):

I've kind of just settled that. Like, I'm gonna kind of be crappy at it for a little while and putting our ego at the door. When you think about the impact you're born to make, when you think about the people that are waiting to hear your story, can you put your ego on the line and sound a little silly for your first two podcast episodes, right? Like, who cares? You know what I mean? Like give yourself that grace and that credit. And I hope that some of you decide to stop waiting and start getting closer to either getting visible online or re releasing your podcast, whatever it is. And just know I'm gonna be cheering you on big time, just like you cheered for me. You have supported me in this journey and so I'm gonna be there, there for you too. Okay? Thank you for your support.

    Speaker 2 (11:56):

Happy one 50 friends and family. This is our, our celebration, our birthday. And also my daughter just screamed <laugh>. Also, this is a reminder to stop and celebrate. Like, I almost didn't celebrate this cuz I accidentally passed a hundred episodes and I was like, oh my gosh, dang it. We're already at like 111, right? And I was like, that's okay, we'll celebrate at 150, right? I think in online business we have to remember, since we don't have a boss, that's like giving us an annual award for sticking around the company, right? Like one of the biggest things I work on with my clients is creating our own metrics and our own celebrations. It's never too late to celebrate. And I think like celebrating is just such a beautiful, like we as we're always like, there's always another marker. There's always another milestone, right? And so I think I wanna ask you too, like what can you stop and celebrate?

    Speaker 2 (12:47):

Even like for me, I'm celebrating a hundred fifties, not really round number, right? But like, what is it that you need to give yourself permission to stop and celebrate and make a big deal out of and take yourself out to dinner for, right? Or even tell your girlfriends like, Hey, I did this thing. Like, will you celebrate this with me? Right? Permission to stop and celebrate and make a big deal, not just for you, but for your people, right? For your audience. And really for me it's like being able to stop and be present. We spend so much of our energy in the past reflecting in the future visioning, but I think sometimes it's good to just stop, put a line in the sand and say, today is enough. I worked enough. I did enough. I am enough. I am worthy of celebrating and living in this moment.

    Speaker 2 (13:31):

I don't always have to look to the future. I don't always have to beat beat myself up for the past, right? I can just be here in this very moment and I just want you to stop. I just feel called to do this right now. If you're listening to this episode, just stop for a minute. Whatever you're doing, if you're doing the dishes, if you're driving, obviously pull to the side of the road, right? But like, can you put your heart, sell your hand on your heart and say, I am proud of myself for what I have done, what I have accomplished right here in this moment. It is worth celebrating even if I'm not as far as I want to be, right? Even if I've made mistakes, even if I've had doubts, even if my path has been unperfect, I am stopping right here in this moment of time to stop and to celebrate and to recognize how far I've come and I'm gonna come at my next accomplishment with that energy of being so proud of myself. I'm so proud of myself. I love myself. I am I'm acknowledging the accomplishments that I've made. And in so doing, I am being an example for my clients, for my children, for my loved ones, of what it's like to not just be driven and ambitious, but to love and appreciate myself along the way. To go at those ambitions from a place of worthiness, enoughness, right deservingness satisfaction. Knowing that who I am right now in this moment is enough.
